Looking west towards America from the coast of Portugal as the sun rises. The colour in the clouds from the waking sun and the rolling waves breaking on the rocks made getting up early worthwhile. The breakers in the surf made this look like a surfers paradise but the amount of rocks around the shore curtailed any boarders braving these waters.

Managed to get up Wimbledon hill for a walk in the snow on Wednesday. Spent most of the time trying to make my fingers work. Standing in the snow, holding an umbrella over my tripod as the camera soaked up this image aroused some strange looks from passing dog walkers. The white coating makes the place look even more wonderful.

I found these images recently, not sure how I came by them but they are of my parents on holiday in the sixties. So strange seeing your parents so young, younger than I am now. All before, well everything I've known. I printed them, framed them and gave them to my parents as Christmas presents. Wasn't sure how they would feel about seeing their younger selves but they loved it. My dad reminisced for a good hour after opening it. They were on holiday in Spain, near Barcelona. The beach doesn't exist any more, its all covered with hotels and burger bars. I think it was their first foray abroad. Spain being a fascist country at the time had only just opened up its boarders to holiday makers, so my parents were blazing a trail for sun seekers. My mum made the dress she was wearing, I never knew she did that and she looks great in it. The couple in the middle on the beach are my parents friends, sadly they aren't to well at the moment.
I hope they get round to putting the pictures up. Always good to remind yourself of good times.
